Stuck in Snow in Edmonton? What to Do

Heavy Edmonton snowfall can leave vehicles stuck in driveways, parking lots, alleys, and on residential streets. Spinning the tires repeatedly can make the situation worse by digging the vehicle deeper into the snow.

Try Traction First

If it is safe, clear snow away from the tires and underneath the vehicle. Traction sand or another suitable traction aid may help the tires regain grip.

Avoid aggressive acceleration, which can increase wheel spin and make the vehicle harder to recover.

When to Call for Help

If your vehicle remains stuck or is in an unsafe location, call Edmonton roadside assistance or a towing service. Professional recovery equipment can help remove the vehicle without unnecessary damage.

Always provide your location and explain whether the vehicle is stuck in deep snow, a snowbank, or another difficult position.
